What are window clings?

Vinyl window clings are adhesive-free displays that attach to glass. They come in plastic sheets, available in white or transparent finishes, ready to take on custom graphics of any color. The clear version can be applied to the inside of a clear glass with the design looking out. The opaque, on the other hand, has a white coat that gets direct printing for front-facing designs.

What is the difference between a window cling and a decal?

The difference between a window cling and a decal is in their adhesiveness. Window clings don’t have sticky backing. They adhere to glass with their unique static electricity and are reusable. Window decals, on the other hand, are one-time stickers that adhere to glass and other smooth surfaces with glue.

What types do you offer for vinyl window clings?

How small or large can my customized window cling be?

The minimum and maximum sizes of our window clings are 6”x6” and 52”x850”, respectively.

How do window clings work?

A custom window cling is a glue-free display that can be applied to glass. It functions based on the static electricity created between one side of the display and a glossy application surface. You can reposition the product, and it won’t lose its adhesive properties.

How should I apply my personalized window cling?

Clear the application area of any dust and debris. Remove the protector that covers the graphics on your static window cling and attach them to the application surface.

How can I remove air bubbles from my custom vinyl clings?

Use a squeegee or a plastic card to smooth out the display and remove air bubbles trapped under the product, moving from the center to the edges.

Do window clings go inside or outside?

Our glass clings are suitable for both sides of any glass or similar veneer. You may use them with inside-glass graphics for transparent surfaces. This will prevent them from coming loose or falling off because of heavy wind, heat, or precipitation when used outdoors.

How to remove window clings?

Removable window clings don’t leave any residue or stains on the application surface after use. To take them off, all you have to do is pull a corner of the display with your fingernail and peel it away. Be careful to keep the material intact if you want to reuse it later.

How to reuse window clings?

Both white and clear window clings are reusable. Stick your custom window cling onto a piece of wax paper to store it for later. The paper will keep the sticky side clean and protect its clinging strength. Remove the protective layer and reapply whenever you want to use it.

How should I clean custom static clings?

Wipe the surface of your window cling signs using a damp microfiber cloth if they’re visibly dirty. Be careful not to peel them at the edges when cleaning.

How to store static cling stickers?

For storage, choose a dry, clean spot away from direct sunlight and moisture. Avoid getting dust on the product to preserve its clinging effect. Clings for windows can curl at the edges when stored for too long. To prevent this, place a book on top to keep them flat or roll them up fully, depending on their size.

How long does a window cling last?

Custom vinyl clings typically last around five years when used indoors, protected from direct sunlight and temperature extremes. For outdoor use, expect a lifespan of 1+ years when exposed to sun, rain, and weather conditions.

Do window clings damage windows?

No, window vinyl clings don’t damage windows when applied and removed correctly. Unlike adhesive decals, static clings use static electricity rather than glue, so they won't leave residue, cause scratches, or affect the glass surface.

Why won't my window clings stick?

Static clings may not stick if the glass surface is dirty, dusty, or has residue from cleaning products. To fix this, thoroughly clean the window with water or a mild soap solution, then dry completely before application. Other reasons include low-quality cling material, damaged, or old clings.

What material are static cling signs made of?

Static cling signs are made from vinyl-based plastic material, specifically PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or similar polymers. We make the product with a 7-mil polyvinyl chloride.

Will the sun or extreme cold damage the clings for windows?

Both extreme heat and cold can damage window clings and reduce their lifespan. Intense sun exposure causes the colors to fade. On the other hand, cold damages the product’s adhesiveness and makes it fragile.

What surfaces can I install my custom-printed window cling on?

Install your static clings on flat, smooth surfaces, such as glass, metal, and plastic. Avoid porous, textured, and frosted surfaces. They will create bubbles and reduce the adhesiveness of the product.

Will my window cling signs work on tinted windows?

Yes, your window cling will work on tinted windows. However, it’s best to apply them to the outside for clear visibility. In-glass installation is inconvenient, since the tinted glass will obscure the graphics and make it difficult to see.

What is the thickness of the product?

Our window clings come in 7 mil thickness.

Are custom static cling stickers resistant to abrasion?

Static clings hold up well to normal handling, but they aren’t for heavy abrasion. The PVC material resists everyday wear on a window, where nothing rubs against it. Since window clings sit flat on glass, they rarely face scratching in typical use.

Apply your window cling inside the window to shield it from scuffs and weather. Avoid rubbing the printed surface with a rough cloth or abrasive cleaners.

What is the turnaround time for the product?

Fast turnaround time takes one business day. Standard turnaround takes two business days. Production starts once you confirm your order and approve any proof. Keep in mind that turnaround covers production only, so add shipping time for your final delivery date.

Will I need any accessories to install my static cling window sticker?

Not much, since static clings are simple to apply. They cling to glass on their own, with no adhesive or special tools required. Use a squeegee to smooth out air bubbles.

Will the product melt as the temperature increases?

No, your window static cling won’t melt. The PVC material handles typical indoor and outdoor temperatures without warping or losing shape. On very hot glass, like a sun-facing window in summer, the cling may soften slightly but returns to normal as it cools. For the best hold in extreme heat, apply it to the inside of the window.

Do you have design tips for business window clings?

Keep your message short and easy to read from a distance. Lead with your logo, business name, and one key detail like your business hours.

Use bold colors so that the design stays visible on the glass. Pick a legible font, such as Helvetica, Arial, or Open Sans. Leave some space around the edges.

Can you cut the product into individual letters?

Not as separate pieces. Our custom cut follows the outline of your whole design, but it won’t separate each letter individually.
