What Are Poster Stands?
Poster stands are sleek, versatile floor-standing displays with a black metal frame and PVC graphics. The UV-printed graphic slides directly into the frame. It’s double-sided so you can display the same or two different messages at once.
A custom poster stand is designed for businesses and organizations that need a reliable freestanding display for promotional, informational, and directional messaging. It solves a common problem: getting your message at eye level in busy spaces without drilling into walls or renting fixed signage.
Since the stand is portable and the graphic is replaceable, you can move it between locations and update your messaging as often as you need.
Retail stores use poster stands to feature sales, product launches, and seasonal promotions. Restaurants display daily specials, menus, and events. Corporate offices and trade show booths rely on them for brand messaging, schedules, and announcements. Schools, hotels, museums, and fitness centers use them to share directions and visitor information.
The product is built for indoor use and performs best in mid- to long-term applications, such as lobby displays, menu boards, and wayfinding. You can set one up outdoors for short-term use in calm, dry weather, but the stand is not designed for permanent outdoor installation. Avoid high-traffic walkways, unstable surfaces, and windy conditions, as the stand can tip over.
Create your poster stand online with our design tool. Upload your logo and ready artwork, or design yours from scratch. You’ll get top-quality products with fast shipping across the US and Canada.
Materials and Printing of Poster Display Stands
Our floor-standing poster display consists of a 22”x28” PVC display and metal hardware. The display is ⅛” thick and has prints on both sides. We apply double-sided full-color UV printing for the PVC panel. You can get the same or a different design printed on either side.
The PVC panel is supported by a metal frame. It’s a free-standing black matte steel frame that holds the graphics upright and makes it easy for people to read the message up close. The metal frame is 60” tall and weighs 16 lbs. You can set it up on even surfaces, away from high-traffic areas and harsh weather conditions.
How The Drop-In System Works
A poster stand has a top-loading frame that lets you drop in the PVC graphics within seconds, tool-free. You can insert your display through the narrow open slot on the frame. Once you drop the PVC insert into the stand, it appears framed.
You can order a display with the same or different prints on both sides.

Common Uses of Custom Poster Stands
Retail Stores and Malls
Use poster stands in retail stores and shopping malls. Place them near entrances, aisles, and checkout counters to announce sales, new arrivals, seasonal offers, and special deals. The stand is portable and lightweight. You can relocate it whenever you want.
Trade Shows and Events
The product helps exhibitors display product information, business messages, schedules, promotional offers, event details, and QR codes for people to scan and get more information. This display doesn’t take up much floor space. They can also guide visitors toward booths and registration areas.
Movie Theaters and Cinema Lobbies
Place poster display stands in cinema lobbies and waiting areas to showcase movie releases, showtimes, upcoming screenings, or special promotions. The product works well in theaters, too. It can reach a larger audience thanks to its double-sided graphics.
Hotel Lobbies
Hotels use the product to welcome guests, promote conferences, feature dining options, or local attractions. They can also guide people to different locations inside or outside the building. You’ll usually see these stands near the breakfast buffet with information about daily events.
Restaurants and Cafes
A floor-standing poster display is a useful advertising tool for restaurants and cafes. They highlight daily specials, seasonal menus, promotions, new dishes, and special events. It helps people read the menu on the go without entering the building.
Offices, Clinics, and Studios
Poster stands usually display announcements, services, schedules, educational information, or safety guidelines in offices, clinics, and studios. The product is useful for these venues because you can easily replace the graphics with new ones.
Assembly and Installation
Drop the PVC panel into the poster stand. The hardware has a narrow slot at the top through which you can insert your graphics.
Place your stand indoors on even surfaces. You can place it outdoors too if the weather is fine. Don’t leave it under heavy rain, scorching sun, or strong winds for too long.
Care Tips for Free-Standing Poster Stands
Clean your poster regularly. Wipe the PVC panel with a soft cloth. Don’t use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. They’ll damage the material and the print. Handle the stand with care when moving it from place to place. Keep it away from excessive moisture and direct sunlight.
