What Are Teardrop Flags?
Custom teardrop flags are tall, narrow banners with the shape of a teardrop. They have a rounded and curved top that comes to a point at the bottom. Teardrop flags are attached to a flexible pole that holds up in the air.
Teardrop banner flags grab attention fast; they’re tall and move with the wind. They work in any weather, and they are easy to set up and take down. Besides, they’re reusable and affordable, and can have fully customized messages on them.
A teardrop flag is ideal for retail stores, car dealerships, farmers' markets, sporting events, real estate open houses, trade shows, restaurants, and churches. Need to draw attention at your next event? We also print small teardrop flags to help you effectively highlight your business logo or messaging.

Desktop Teardrop Flags
Desktop teardrop flags are also known as small or mini teardrop flags. These products provide a custom visual solution that attracts attention indoors and relays information, highlights promotions, and advertises products.
You can find them placed on counter-tops in sports bars, car dealerships, stores, and at trade shows or career fairs. These mini teardrop flags are extremely portable and affordable. The product features a 3.5” diameter chrome base, ensuring it takes up close to no space on your workstation, and it stands 21” high: large enough to get you noticed.
The flag itself is a 4-oz, wind-resistant polyester mesh material. It measures 8.1” at its widest point and is 16” high. We only print a single side of this product using the dye sublimation method to provide your visuals with vibrant colors that last.
Teardrop Flag Printing
Our teardrop banners are composed of a high-quality polyester face and bendable aluminum hardware. The face of custom teardrop flags exhibits vibrant imagery on soft yet durable material. The post for the product is assembled of three aluminum poles and one adjustable fiberglass rod, which gives the teardrop flag its distinct form.
Your custom teardrop flag will be shipped, dismantled, and packed into a box or portable travel case. It includes a bottom construction and accessories. The product will serve a minimum of two years with proper maintenance.
Printing Sides of Teardrop Flags
We use dye sublimation printing technology to get full-color teardrop signs. With this method, inks are absorbed directly into the woven polyester cover to yield vivid visuals. Our teardrop advertising flags come with three options to match different display needs.
- Single-sided flags show your design fully on one side. They’re a great lightweight and budget-friendly choice for most displays. It is also the only printing option available for the mini teardrop flag.
- Reverse-sided flags are printed in mirror image. You can place two flags back-to-back and get a matched design from both directions.
- Double-sided teardrop flags feature full imagery on both faces. Custom printed teardrop flags are separated by a blockout layer in between, which keeps your messages sharp, no matter which direction people are coming from.

Set Up Options of Teardrop Flags
You’ll receive your teardrop flag banner broken down into parts and packed into a box. You can opt to receive it in a reusable carrying bag for an additional cost.
To assemble the flag, connect the four rods and slip the face material over the pole set, then insert it into the support structure. View the Guide
* The top part of the pole will bend as it curves into the hem of the material.
We offer several support structures for teardrop signs of different sizes. You can find their technical specifications below:
- Ground Stake: A heavy-duty metal base designed to anchor large and extra-large teardrop banners outdoors. It can be hammered deep into the ground for reliable performance in all weather conditions. Suitable for all four teardrop flag sizes.
- Square Base: Perfect for indoor and outdoor flat surfaces. This sturdy square base is ideal for medium to large teardrop banners and offers a clean, stable presentation.
- Cross Base: A four-legged base best suited for small to medium teardrop signs. Lightweight and portable, it’s ideal for indoor use and allows quick repositioning.
- Cross Base + Water Bag: A cross base paired with a water bag for enhanced stability. The fillable bag increases weight, making it suitable for use in various environments while securely supporting your banner.
* You can also opt to receive your flag with no pole set and without any bases if you already have a compatible pole set for it.
Mini teardrop flags differ from their larger counterparts in that the flag, pole, and base always come as a single package. The round chrome base keeps the flag upright on any horizontal surface. The fiberglass pole slides into the flag’s pole pocket and curves along its edge. View the Guide

Common Uses of Teardrop Flags
Teardrop banners are lightweight and ground-mounted. They’re easy to reposition whenever and wherever needed, and they provide your business with evergreen visibility, just as vinyl banners do.
Trade Shows and Business Events
Promotional teardrop flags and their mini options help your booth stand out during loud and busy trade shows. They’re easy to bring in, set up in minutes, and make your place look polished. For the best results, pair them with table covers or retractable banners for maximum impact.
Outdoor Events
Festivals, sports events, concerts, community fairs, and charity runs all use printed teardrop flags as they mark entrances, guide crowds, or highlight sponsor areas. The product holds up great in the wind and is visible from a distance, so attendees always know where to go.
Branding and Wayfinding
Print teardrop flags to show your brand and help people find their way. Design them in your brand colors with your logo. They also work great as markers at large venues, guiding people to the right entrance, booth, and PR area without any confusion.
Outdoor Advertising and Storefronts
Promotional teardrop flags are optimal for businesses that want to attract more attention. Retail stores, car dealerships, restaurants, gyms, and trade show participants use them to reach their audiences.
Cafes and Restaurants
Cafés and restaurants benefit from the eye-catching shape of advertising teardrop flags to drive sales and relay essential information. Small flags placed at the end of the bar can highlight deals or happy hour specials, getting diners spending before they even find their seats.
Reception and Front Desks
A strategically placed mini teardrop flag on a hotel front desk can promote events, showcase in-house dining, or reinforce branding. Chain hotels may also display the logos of their partner establishments to draw guests' attention.
Retail Point-of-Sale Counters
Retail stores set up miniature teardrop flags on checkout counters to capture shoppers' attention at the moment of purchase. These compact displays can advertise discounts tied to a specific payment method, announce buy one get one free offers, or nudge customers toward last-minute add-ons.
Career Fairs and Press Conferences
Corporations, SMEs, and startups participating in career fairs use promotional teardrop flags to share information about themselves: larger, standard sizes for outdoor events and mini versions for indoor venues.
How to Take Care of and Store Printed Teardrop Flags
Taking care of your teardrop flags is simple. When they get dirty, hand-wash them with mild soap and cold water.
Avoid the washing machine as it can damage the fabric and make the print fade. Let them air dry completely before packing them away, since storing them damp can cause molding.
When not in use, fold them loosely and keep them in the carry bag away from direct sunlight and moisture.
Check the poles and hardware from time to time for any signs of wear, and replace any bent or cracked parts before they become a bigger problem.
Store your teardrop signage by untying the bungee cord and pulling the flag off the pole. Fold the flag, dismantle the pole set, and place them in their box. Place the base in its own box. Store the boxes in a cool, dark, dry place, and avoid placing heavy objects on them so as not to damage the product.

We print teardrop flags with a polyester material, while the hardware is bendable aluminum. This material is very suitable for outdoor use as the colors won’t fade, and the fabric won’t warp.
Custom teardrop flags have a matte finish. This means teardrop flags won’t reflect light outside and will showcase your graphics glare-free.
Absolutely! They are made of a resilient material, so they do well outdoors. Indoors, they add a professional look to any space, be it a trade show or a retail store. Desktop teardrop flags are used almost exclusively indoors, but can be set up on desks and tables outdoors for short periods of time.
We offer specific printing techniques to meet your display needs. These methods help you choose between unique designs or mirrored graphics.

No, teardrop flags can’t be placed near an open flame. Exposure to flames will permanently damage or entirely burn your teardrop banner.
Thanks to a flexible fiberglass pole on top, teardrop banner faces are tightly stretched to prevent them from fluttering or falling over. However, teardrop signs can bend or collapse under strong winds. Use them under moderate conditions when outdoors.
Mini teardrop flags are also made of a wind-resistant polyester mesh material. However, their small stature makes them more suitable for indoor use.
A teardrop flag has a rounded top that curves downwards towards the end. A feather flag is longer and narrower, with a shape resembling a feather.
With proper care, teardrop flags have a lifespan of more than two years. Desktop teardrop flags that are used indoors and aren’t exposed to UV light for long periods of time comfortably last over five years.
Use a soft, damp towel to regularly clean the aluminum hardware of your custom teardrop flags. You may wash the polyester cover in cold water with mild soap and hang it to air dry.
