Materials of Reflective Signs
Dibond, available in 0.125” and 0.25” thicknesses, consists of two thin aluminum sheets with a polyethylene core sandwiched between them. This layered construction makes it exceptionally rigid and dent-resistant, so it’s the better choice for larger signs, high-traffic areas, and long-term outdoor displays that need to hold up for years.
Solid aluminum comes in a single 0.080" sheet, making it a lighter, more budget-friendly option. Choose it for smaller signs, temporary or seasonal displays, or projects where you want dependable outdoor durability at a lower cost.
Whichever material you pick, both use the same high-quality retroreflective vinyl facing. Micro glass beads embedded in the vinyl send light back toward its source instead of scattering it, giving viewers a clearer, brighter image at night. You can choose from several options to install your reflective metal sign. The selection depends on where you’ll set it up. If you want a secure outdoor installation, opt for standoffs or zip ties. Command Strips will work for indoor environments.
Zip Ties
Use this installation method if you want to attach your reflective aluminum sign to fences or poles.
Step 1: Hold the product against the installation surface in a desired position.
Step 2: Pass a zip tie through the drilled holes of the sign.
Step 3: Loop the zip tie around the fence wire or a pole.
Step 4: Pull the zip tie tight and trim the excess tail.
Step 5: Repeat this action for all the drilled holes.
Command Strips
Opt for this setup option for indoor installation on smooth surfaces without drilling holes in your sign or the wall.
Step 1: Clean the surface.
Step 2: Attach Command Strips to the corners at the back of your product.
Step 3: Press the sign against the wall for 30 seconds so the strips adhere.
Step 4: Pull the sign off by the tab, leaving the strips on the wall.
Step 5: Wait an hour, then press the sign back onto the strips.
Standoffs
Choose standoffs for long-term installation. Select gold, black, or silver standoffs to best suit your needs.
Step 1: Place the reflective aluminum sign against the wall and mark where each hole should go.
Step 2: Drill holes at each marked point, and insert wall anchors.
Step 3: Screw the back barrel of each standoff into the wall anchor.
Step 4: Line up the sign holes with the standoff barrels.
Step 5: Place the sign onto the barrels and screw the front cap onto each one.
