What are PVC Signs?
A PVC (polyvinyl chloride) sign, often called a Sintra board, is a rigid display made of standard and dry-erase materials. They’re affordable, lightweight, and super durable.
Custom PVC signs are suitable for indoor and sheltered outdoor use because they’re water-resistant and easy to maintain. They fit offices, retail stores, cafes, restaurants, hotels, trade show booths, and business and event venues.
PVC prints serve as promotional signs for retail stores and decorative displays for hotels, offices, and other venues. Restaurants and cafes use this product as menu boards or interior displays. For trade shows, PVC signs are great informational plaques.
PVC signs are best for indoor and sheltered outdoor use. Direct sun shortens their lifespan and may cause the board to yellow and the print to fade.
Create your custom PVC signs online with our intuitive design tool. You’ll get top-quality products with premium printing and fast shipping across the US, with delivery to Canada available.

PVC Board Printing and Materials
We use a direct UV-curing printing method for our PVC signs. We apply UV-stable CMYK inks directly to the material, resulting in a matte finish on standard boards and a semi-glossy finish on dry-erase boards. The printing process dries the inks with ultraviolet light, making the PVC board printing fade-resistant and long-lasting.
Our PVC signs are available in two materials: standard and dry-erase. Both are expanded (foam) PVC, the lightweight rigid sheet sold under names like Sintra. Standard sheets can be black or white and 0.125”, 0.25”, or 0.5” thick. Get them in custom shapes and sizes, with single- and double-sided printing options. For double-sided plaques, you can use the same design or different designs.
PVC signs are bendable. However, don’t force them to fold, or they will break.

Custom Dry-Erase PVC Board
Dry-erase PVC boards are another type of PVC sign material we offer. It’s a 0.125” thick board with a white, semi-glossy dry-erase coating. The finish allows you to write temporary notes on the board’s surface and clean it when needed.
We apply UV printing technology for this material with single- and double-sided options. The finish of a dry-erase material turns semi-glossy after printing.
Your artwork is printed under the dry-erase coating. Wiping the board with a dedicated whiteboard cleaner clears only the marker writing on the coating and doesn’t affect the print. Use dry-erase markers only.

Printing Options
Order single- or double-sided PVC board printing. It applies to both standard and dry-erase materials.
- The single-sided option is better if you want to attach your PVC prints to a wall or have them face only one way.
- Double-sided printing is for ceiling displays or hanging signs with both sides visible. You may choose to get it with the same or different designs on each side.
Sizes
We offer PVC signs in custom sizes, ranging from 4” x 4” to 48” x 96”. For dry-erase PVC displays, the size range is 6” x 6” to 38” x 48”. Browse the most common sizes below.

Cutting Options for PVC Signs
We use CNC routing to shape any custom PVC sign with precision. The router cuts cleanly through the sheet, delivering smooth edges. We offer five different cutting options for our PVC prints.
- Square / Rectangular: This cutting option will give your PVC sign printing a square or rectangular shape with 90-degree corners.
- Rounded: Your PVC board printing will be similar to a standard square or rectangular cut with smooth, rounded corners.
- Circular / Oval: PVC signs cut in circular or oval shapes look smooth and elegant. They make beautiful wall art.
- Custom Cut: Your PVC plastic signs will have the exact outline shape of your design, without any borders.
- Custom Cut With Border: Your custom-cut PVC signs will have a thin border running around your design.
*Please note that dry-erase PVC boards are only available with a standard square / rectangular cut.

Industries Using PVC Prints Most Often
You can use PVC prints in various industries. Explore the most common places where you can meet PVC signs.

Retail PVC Signs
Retail stores often use lightweight PVC signs for indoor displays. They feature catchy graphics, which means you can use them as PoP (Point of Purchase) displays or advertising plaques to announce new deals and seasonal sales. Create hanging department markers, wayfinding displays, and advertising boards with PVC sign printing.

Healthcare PVC Signs
Lightweight and rigid PVC signs are cost-effective materials for hospitals and medical facilities. They serve as wayfinding and informational displays. You can install PVC signs in the hospital’s corridors to highlight hygiene best practices and safety guidelines.

Restaurant PVC Prints
Restaurants use custom PVC signs to display their menus, daily specials, and table numbers. They place them near the entrance to attract tourists and passersby. The material protects the menu from tearing and spillage. It reduces waste and maintains its appearance.

Real Estate PVC Signs
Realtors mount PVC boards on building facades, in windows, and at open houses to make their listings more visible to renters and buyers. For staked lawn displays, see our yard signs. You can feature your name, contact information, brokerage logo, a QR code for more details, and small text on the board.
Common Uses of PVC Board Signs
A PVC sign is a multipurpose medium with a vast range of benefits. Place them indoors or in sheltered outdoor areas for any purpose. Create PVC board signs for easy navigation. Use them to decorate venues and share information.

Decorative PVC Poster Signs
Print anything you like on PVC signs and use them at home and in the office. Print your friends' or family photographs, pet photos, beautiful landscapes, and inspirational quotes. Mount them on a living room wall or place them on your bedside table. For office decoration, you can install decorative PVC board printing in the reception areas, meeting rooms, conference rooms, and offices.

Informative PVC Signs
Use PVC signs to disseminate information. Consider where you’ll place the poster to decide on an appropriate size. A large PVC sign in a school's lobby stays visible to students as they walk in. You can place small informational signs near the restrooms, exits, entrances, stairs, and office doors.

Directional PVC Prints
PVC board signs are water-resistant, so they hold up indoors and in covered or shaded outdoor spots. For fully exposed outdoor directional signs, consider aluminum signs or corrugated plastic signs. Use them for wayfinding to bathrooms, parking lots, stores, offices, and hospital wards.

PVC Signs for Events
Custom PVC signs help create elegant decor for weddings, birthdays, parties, holidays, and anniversaries. Light and easy to handle like acrylic signs, they work well as indoor and sheltered outdoor embellishments. Print anything on these plaques, from minimalist graphics to color-rich images. You can also use PVC signs at trade shows. Mount them on booth walls, counters, and standing features to draw attention from every angle.

Mounting Options for Custom-Made PVC Signs
There are several ways for you to mount your custom PVC prints. We offer a range of installation options and accessories to facilitate the process.
- Standoffs: Standoffs are silver, gold, or black wall spacers. They allow you to hang your product from a wall through predrilled holes. Make sure you select the right number of drilled holes and standoffs before placing your order.
- Easel Backs: This mounting method is suitable for showcasing smaller sizes. Put it on an easel back and display it on a table, countertop, or any other flat surface.
- Command Strips: Command strips attach to the back of your PVC signs and are not visible. This will give your product a smooth and sleek appearance.
- Suction Cup and Hook: Mount your display on smooth surfaces, such as glass, with a suction cup and hook. Select the number of drilled holes to run the hooks through them easily.
Care for PVC Board Signs
Clean your custom PVC sign printing regularly with a damp, non-abrasive microfiber cloth to prevent dirt buildup. Use a gentle soap-and-water solution if it’s already dirty.
Dip a soft sponge into the liquid and gently clean your PVC sign board. Wipe the sign with a wet towel to rinse off the soapy water. Then wipe it dry.
Avoid using paint thinners, ammonia-based cleaners, bleach, and other harsh chemicals, as they’ll damage the printing and material.
Store your custom PVC sign in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. Persistent sun exposure can bend the material over time. Leave it flat with graphics facing outward. Don’t put any other product on it.
These cleaning and storage techniques apply to both standard and dry-erase materials.

PVC Signs FAQ
- We use standard and dry-erase expanded PVC (polyvinyl chloride) materials for PVC sign printing, the same type of sheet known as Sintra board. Both materials are lightweight, water-resistant, and affordable for indoor and sheltered outdoor use.
- We employ a UV-curing printing technique to print on dry-erase PVC boards. Your artwork is printed under the board’s semi-glossy dry-erase coating. The coating allows you to write on the surface with a dry-erase marker and wipe it off with a sponge or cloth without affecting the print.
- The dry-erase material comes with a special coating, unlike the standard material. You can write on the surface with a marker and clean it off. Dry-erase surfaces are semi-glossy when printed.
- A PVC sign’s dry-erase coating allows you to write on it with a standard non-permanent marker and easily clean the notes afterwards. It doesn’t leave stains or marks on the surface. You can wipe off your notes with a whiteboard eraser or a cotton towel. Since the print sits under the coating, a dedicated whiteboard cleaner removes only the marker writing and leaves your design intact.
- Yes. Standard dry-erase markers work on the dry-erase board, and they are the only markers you should use on it. Their alcohol-based ink comes off easily when you wipe it with a whiteboard eraser, soft sponge, or non-abrasive cloth. Standard PVC boards have no dry-erase coating, so marker writing won’t wipe off them.
- They’re practical for creating directional and informative signs, menu boards, freestanding displays, decorative displays, and promotional plaques.
PVC plastic signs work well as menu boards, educational plaques, safety notes, and temporary signs. You can create name plates, traffic, and event displays with PVC signs. This is a great product for making temporary signs. - Our PVC signage comes in custom sizes, ranging from 4” x 4” to 48” x 96”. For dry-erase boards, we offer sizes 6” x 6” to 38” x 48”.
- You should choose the right size for your sign depending on the installation area and purpose. We provide small, medium, and large PVC signage for real estate and trade exhibitions. Businesses also use this product for retail stores and architectural promotions. Find more detailed information in the “Sizes” section above.
- You can get your PVC sign printing cut square or rectangular, with rounded corners, circular or oval, custom cut, or custom cut with a border around the design. Dry-erase boards are available in square or rectangular cuts only.
- No, PVC signs are lightweight, which makes them easy to install and use for various occasions. They weigh approximately 0.4, 0.8, or 1.6 lbs per square foot, based on their thickness.
- PVC signs are water-resistant. Rain won’t damage the board, but prolonged sun and heat can fade the print and warp the sheet, so sheltered or short-term outdoor use is best.
- PVC signs are sturdy, but they may not hold up under pressure. Intense sunlight and improper storage may also bend the material over time.
- Three thicknesses are available for PVC signs: 0.125”, 0.25”, and 0.5”.
- Yes, you can print the same or two different designs on opposite sides of your PVC sign.
- Your standard PVC sign has a matte finish on both printed and unprinted areas. PVC signs made of a dry-erase material have a semi-glossy surface.
- There is virtually no limit to PVC sign printing. You can use our platform to design and order custom signs online. Standard PVC boards come in black or white, and dry-erase boards in white, but you can print any color on them. Use our intuitive design tool to create a custom sign or upload ready-made images for your display.
- It’s easy to take care of PVC prints. Wipe them regularly with a damp microfiber cloth, and use a gentle soap-and-water solution when they need a proper wash. Avoid ammonia-based cleaners, bleach, and solvents. Regular dusting reduces the need for washing. This will extend the life of your PVC sign printing.
Don’t place the product under direct sunlight for an extended period. This way, you’ll prevent the material from expanding and damaging your graphics. These tips apply to both standard and dry-erase materials. - Place your PVC signs in a clean box and store them in a cool and dry place. Make sure they lie flat with nothing on top of them. Please remember not to store your products upright. Plastic may warp over time when stored this way. This technique applies to both standard and dry-erase materials.
- You can install your custom PVC signs in various locations thanks to the installation options and accessories we provide: standoffs, easel backs, command strips, and suction cups with hooks.
Hang them from the ceiling, attach them to walls or windows, or stand them on a counter. PVC board signs look appealing wherever you decide to place them. - Yes, PVC is a good option for sheltered and short-term outdoor signs. They’re water-resistant and can handle light outdoor exposure. They perform best in shaded or semi-protected areas. For long-term outdoor durability, especially in extreme weather, materials like aluminum or ACM are more suitable.
- PVC signs last 3+ years in sheltered outdoor spots and 5+ years indoors. Their lifespan depends on sun exposure, weather, and installation. PVC signage can retain its appearance for many years indoors or in low-exposure outdoor areas.
- PVC can withstand limited sun exposure. Prolonged direct sunlight may cause fading or slight warping over time. Consider placing your PVC sign in a shaded location to extend its life.
