Foam Board Signs

Foam board signs, also known as foamcore signs, are a rigid material made of a foam core sandwiched between two firmly adhered sheets of paper. They are sturdy, portable, and affordable.

They make for great indoor promotional, decorative, or display items. Custom foam board signs feature a professional-looking matte surface and are commonly used in retail stores, offices, trade shows, and during corporate events. They are ideal for menu boards, event decorations, and photo prints.

These signs are light enough for you to move them around with ease. Thanks to this feature, you’ll easily carry them to use at your next event, show, or celebration. We also print them in a dry-erase option. This allows you to repeatedly write messages on the product and erase them.

Foam board printing is a suitable solution for short- to mid-term usage. These signs last two to three years indoors if they aren’t exposed to direct sunlight or high temperatures.

We use UV inks to print custom foam boards and ensure they remain vivid. This printing method also prevents your graphics from fading for a long time. The dry-erase option comes with a special laminate coating we apply to the surface of your print. 

We offer single-sided and double-sided printing for foam board signs. Single-sided printing works well when your sign only faces one direction and is placed against a wall.

Double-sided printing puts your message on full display, whichever way people are facing. Print the same design on both sides for consistency, or use two different designs to share more information.

Foam board posters are available in two thicknesses: 3/16” and ½”. The thicker option offers a prolonged lifespan and added durability.

Kindly note that the dry-erase option is only available on 3/16” foam board signs.

Dry-erase foam board printing is a smart pick if you want to change your message. Write on it with a dry-erase marker, then wipe it clean whenever you need to update your message. A dry-erase marker wipes off clean so you can easily reword your message. It’s a great fit for restaurant menus and daily specials boards or retail promotions that change frequently. 

It also works well for classroom charts, lesson trackers, and office checklists. For events, use it for schedules or agendas that change throughout the day. The dry-erase option is ideal if you need to update directional signs or registration and check-in info at trade show booths.

Most people order signs in standard square or rectangular shapes. Additional shape options we offer include rounded corners, circles, ovals, custom shapes, and custom shapes with borders.

Please note that we only cut around these signs, not cutouts within the material.

Foam board posters come with a range of mounting options. Select the needed accessories on our design tool and order them along with your display. Please keep in mind that you’ll also need to select the number of drilled holes and their positioning if you want us to drill them for you.

Direct Mounting
Stick foam board posters directly to the wall or any other surface with Command Strips. This option doesn’t require drilled holes, and it won’t leave any residue when removed.

The recommended way to apply this option is by placing strips on the four corners of your foam board poster. They can support up to 12 Ibs of weight, so rest assured that the product will stay put.

Free Standing
The foam board isn’t self-supporting, but you can lean it against a wall or put it on a stand. We offer easel backs that function just like the easels of photo frames.

They’re intended for relatively smaller foam prints. Read all the relevant information about the sizes of the easels and the products they can hold while choosing your accessories through our tool.

Hanging
Since foam board signs are light, you’re free to hang them on the wall or storefront window. If you’ve chosen custom foam board printing on both sides, consider hanging them from the ceiling for maximum efficiency.

Choose suction cups and hooks or zip ties from the accessories.

You can install your foam board sign with different accessories, depending on where and how long you want it to serve.

Command Strips

Step 1: Clean the application area.
Step 2: Separate the strips and click them together.
Step 3: Peel the backing paper off the adhesive part of one of the strips.
Step 4: Adhere the exposed backing of the strips to the back of your product.
Step 5: Peel the backing paper off the other side of the Command Strips.
Step 6: Firmly press the adhesive backs of the Command Strips to the wall.
Step 7: Ensure that your product is firmly fastened to the application area.

Suction Cup & Hook

Step 1: Choose a clean, level, glossy application area (glass or metal).
Step 2: Position the suction cup on the installation area.
Step 3: Press on the central part of the suction cup to push out the air trapped beneath.
Step 4: Pass the hook through the cup.
Step 5: Repeat the process for as many suction cups and hooks as there are.
Step 6: Hang your product from the hooks.

Zip Ties

Step 1: Make sure that your product is level.
Step 2: Pass the zip tie through the grommet (pre-drilled hole).
Step 3: Pull the zip tie tight until there is no wiggle room.
Step 4: Cut the extra part for a cleaner look.
Step 5: Repeat the process for as many zip ties as there are.

Easel Backs

Step 1: Fold the wing of the easel back to open the pre-dotted area.
Step 2: Fold down the circular easel stabilizer to secure the wing in its slot.
Step 3: Remove the tape from the adhesive parts of the easel back.
Step 4: Fix the easel back to the back of your product.
Step 5: Press it for a few seconds to make sure it’s firmly bound.

Maintaining custom foam board signs is easy. All you need is a non-abrasive towel to remove any dust or residue that accumulates on your board.

For the dry-erase option, wipe it with a dry-erase eraser or a soft, dry cloth after each use. Avoid permanent markers, since they can stain the laminate and won’t wipe off.

If you want to store the product for later, place it in any standard box and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. We do not recommend using them outdoors for an extended period.
