There are multiple installation accessories for displaying brushed aluminum signs. You can choose the one that best matches your requirements. Brushed aluminum plaques can be installed with the following accessories: standoffs, easel backs, hanging clips, zip ties and command strips.
Standoffs
Required tools: Standoffs, a drill, screws, anchors, marker and measuring tape
Standoffs include an anchor, screw, barrel, and a cap with a threaded stud. The anchor is used to fix the standoff to the wall. The standoff barrel is what spaces the sign at a desired distance from the wall. Then, the threaded stud is used to sandwich the sign with the cap which adds a decorative finish to the wall-mounted sign.
Preparation:
Before the installation, take the measuring tape and find the perfect position for the installation. Take the sign with pre-drilled holes and place it on the wall. Using the holes on the sign as a guide, mark the areas of the standoffs on the wall.
Installation:
Step 1: Drill 4 holes in the marked areas.
Step 2: Install the anchors, leaving enough external threading to allow the barrel to attach to the exposed end.
Step 3: Now, take the barrel and screw it to the wall via the anchor. Repeat the same action with the rest of the barrels.
Step 4: Next, take the sign and line up the holes with the standoffs on the wall.
Step 5: Take the caps with the threaded studs and fasten the sign on the standoffs. This will sandwich the sign between the barrel and the cap.
We’re done. The sign is now securely mounted to the wall with standoffs.
Command Strips
Required tools: 4 pairs of command strips, masking tape, scissors, measuring tape
Command strips will arrive in pairs already attached to the back of the sign. The strips consist of two identical layers ‘clicked’ together. One side of the strip is covered with an adhesive layer, the other with hooks.
Preparation:
To attain maximum adhesion, the surface of the installation must be clean and dry. Before the installation, thoroughly clean the area of application.
Next, take the measuring device and find the perfect placement for the installation. Adjust the brushed metal sign to your desired position and mark the area of application with masking tape.
Step 1: Take the sign with command strips already attached to it and peel off the liners of the strips.
Step 2: Press the sign with the strips against the surface in the pre-marked location.
Step 3: Now, once the sign is attached to its place, you can remove the masking tape.
Step 4: To ensure the adhesive will hold, remove the sign from its bottom corners, pulling it up and away from the surface.
Step 5: Now, press the strips onto the wall for a few seconds to ensure that they are secure.
Step 6: Wait about an hour before reattaching the frame, to make sure the strips are securely attached to the surface.
Step 7: Align the strips on the frame with the strips on the wall. Press the sign onto the wall until each pair of strips click and seal into place.
We’re done. The rigid sign is now securely fixed in its place.
In case you need to remove the sign, grab its bottom corners, then pull it up and away from the surface. Finally, remove the strips by pulling them downward.
Zip Ties
Step 1: First, you need to find the perfect location and a fitted object for the zip tie installation. Position the pre-drilled holes of the sign into place.
Step 2: Take one zip tie and pass it through one of the drilled holes on the sign.
Step 3: Now, thread the zip tie through the hole and around the object to be secured on. Pull the zip tie to tighten it around the sign and the object.
Step 4: Take the scissors and cut the extra end of the zip tie for a cleaner look.
Step 5: Repeat the same action with the rest of the applicable corners of the sign.
We’re done. The sign is now securely fixed into place from two or four corners as needed.
Easel Backs
Easel backs are lightweight cardboard stands to display small brushed aluminum signs on flat surfaces.
Step 1: Take the easel back and fold the wing inward to cut open the pre-dotted area. Repeat the same action with the other easel back.
Step 2: Fold down the circular easel stabilizer and secure easel wings in the slot on both easel backs.
Step 3: Peel off the tapes from the adhesive bands on both easel backs.
Step 4: Position the adhesive parts of the easel backs on both sides of the sign and press for a few seconds to make sure they are securely fixed.
That's it. Now you are ready to display your small brushed aluminum sign on any flat surface.
